Saylor Cruises was among a select few agencies invited to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to experience the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s groundbreaking ships firsthand. Paula Saylor participated in comprehensive training seminars that imparted in-depth knowledge about Royal Caribbean’s offerings, from the vast array of complimentary onboard experiences to custom shore excursions, specialty dining, and the cruise line’s private beach destinations.

We toured both the Oasis and the Allure of the Seas as well as gaining valuable insight to Royal Caribbean’s continued efforts to not only intrigue but also meet the ever changing needs of our clients.

This experience will definitely enable me to help my clients choose the ship from the Royal Caribbean portfolio, that most suits what my clients are looking for in a cruise vacation.

Agents experienced an intense weekend including both work and play. The weekend included staying in local recommended pre- and post-cruise hotels, and tours of ships including Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas, and the beautiful sister ship Allure of the Seas. These are two of the most innovative vessels on the market. Seminars interwoven throughout the weekend loaded agents with details on the brand’s newest and most innovative ships, new experiences onboard and on shore, plus new destinations among Royal Caribbean’s roster of more than 280 ports worldwide.

“We rely heavily on travel agents, our valued partners, to showcase the wide range of incredible experiences our ships and destinations offer to their clients,” said Vicki L. Freed, Senior Vice President of Sales and Trade Support & Services for Royal Caribbean International. “Our Familiarization Weekend is the best way we can build upon their knowledge and grow their expertise, so they can continue to be the go-to resource for clients looking to book a Royal Caribbean cruise.”

In the past year, Royal Caribbean has won accolades including “Best Cruise Line Overall” (from the Travel Weekly Readers’ Choice Awards, for the eighth consecutive year), “Best Cruise Ships” for Oasis and Allure of the Seas (Frommer’s), and “Best for Families” (Cruise Critic Editors’ Picks Awards). Clients wishing to learn more about a Royal Caribbean cruise with one of Saylor Cruises’s expert-level agents can call 440-779-7032 or email Paula at saylorcruz@aol.com for more information.

Cape Haze vacation rental by owner

The family just returned from Cape Haze, which is located about 30 mile south of Sarasota across from Lemon Bay. I am told that we can just barely see the intra-coastal waterway from our front door. This was a pleasant surprise, because we are across the street from the intra-coastal.

We are also able to walk to Don Pedro State Park, where we can then take a boat across to Don Pedro State Park Beach. Other easy beach alternatives include taking the ferry across the intra-coastal waterway to Palm Island, or driving 3 miles to the Boca Grande causeway. There are three beaches on Boca Grande island. The other beach option is Englewood beach which boasts miles of public beach. Englewood beach is on Manasota Key about 10 minutes from Cape Haze Resort. Along the way you will find all sorts of beach fun stuff, like water skiing and jet skiing.

The Placida public fishing pier is also just about 3 miles away, right next to Fisheries, which is one of everyone's favorite restraunts in the Cape Haze - Placida area.

Cape Haze Resort has all the amenities you could imagine, including on-site tennis courts, basketball courts, a beautiful swimming pool, a putting green complete with sand trap, a state of the art fitness center, and a gorgeous clubhouse. There are nice cooking grills next to the pool area, and miles of hiking trails in our nature preserve just behind the resort property.

For boating enthusiasts, we have our own boat parking lot for guests of Cape Haze Resort, and several marinas within a 10 minute drive. We have a great tackle shop for the fishermen, and boat rentals at Stump Pass marina. We have boat launch at Eldred's at the entrance to Boca Grande.

For photos and more information visit http://www.capehazeresorts.com

Cape Haze Resort

We have a wonderful new Florida Vacation opportunity for our readers. This 14 day crossing visits Rome (Civitavecchia), then Lovorno Italy, Malaga Spain, and Funchal (Madeira) Portuagal; and then continues with seven more Carnival Fun Days at sea before arriving in Miami Florida on November 11, 2007.

Saylor Cruises offers our online customers the opportunity to book directly online with Carnival Cruises starting at $799.*, while we continue to offer you all of the great personal service you have become accustomed to when you travel with Saylor Cruises… where we believe every cruise should be the vacation of a lifetime.

• $799 per guest based upon double occupancy. Government taxes/fees, optional air transportation and pre and post cruise vacation packages are additional. Ship registry: Panama

Carnival offers great shore excursions on this crossing. While in Malaga Spain you have several to choose from. One of my favorites is the tour of Marbella and Puerto Banus. Here are some of the highlights.
Visit two of Spain's most prestigious and well known resort towns, experiencing their charm, climate and beautiful landscapes.
On this beautiful excursion you will:
• Board your motor coach and take the panoramic coastal road, for approximately one hour, to Marbella.
• Proceed on foot to the old town where you will see the picturesque narrow streets and houses with typical flowered balconies and many quaint shops.
• View the Plaza de Los Naranjos, one of the most beautiful squares in Spain, along with the City Hall and the Nuestra Senora de la Encarnación church. C. at Saylor Cruises Cruise Night last month.

· To avoid last minute anxiety, make a thorough packing list before traveling.
· Avoid over-packing. Do not bring things, just because they may come in handy.
· Pack mix-and-match clothes to help minimize baggage and yet enjoy a variety.
· Take things that dry quickly, like synthetic fabrics and lightweight cotton.
· Iron before packing and then roll-don’t fold clothes.
· Stuff rolled bulky sweaters in pantyhose legs to take up less room.
· Hang clothes immediately upon arrival to prevent wrinkling. If clothes do wrinkle, hang them in the bathroom, while taking a shower to steam them.
· Place liquids, like shampoo and make-up in plastic bags, so they do not ruin clothing.
· Place shoes in plastic bags. Also, stuff, socks, underwear, or belts in them.
· Pack a small lint brush.
· Bring a day bag like a small backpack. It can be used as a beach bag for suntan lotion, sunglasses, and reading material or as tour bag to carry maps and shopping souvenirs.
· Don’t forget a small first-aid kit of aspirin, anti-diarrhea, and cold medications, band-aids and anti-bacteria cream.
· A security pouch that can be worn concealed is a good idea to carry traveler’s checks, money, passports and other valuables.
· Keep personal medications and eyeglasses in your carry-on luggage.

Cruise Vacation Check-List
Swimwear (bathing suit and sandals)
Sunglasses
Sunscreen
Jackets and ties; elegant slacks and blouse or a summer gown for formal dining
Shorts
T-shirts
Short sleeve shirts
Sweater for evening
Comfortable walking shoes and light backpack for exploring ports of call
Pajamas
Underwear, socks, and pantyhose

Theme Cruises -

The cruise industry has come to realize that to compete for customers today, they need to offer something special. Every spring, the cruise lines need to move some of their ships from their winter itineraries to their summer locations, and ever fall they move ships from thier summer homes to their winter locations. Since these long sailings with 9 to 21 days at sea are less popular with the majority of vaction goers, you can save some real bucks by booking one of these repositioning crusises.

For those who have the time, love cruising, and are looking for a unique add on to their next European vacation... plan the trip home with a repositioning cruise.

Here are a couple of repositioning cruises to ask about: The Carnival Spirit spends the winter in the Mexican Rivera then moves to Alaska via Hawaii in the fall. The Carnival Liberty spends the summer in the Mediterranean then sails across the Atlantic ocean in the autumn. Celebiry Constellation moves to Europe (from the Caribbean) in the spring.

One of the best values in cruising for those who enjoy days at sea, repos may cost under $100 per day, sometimes (Windjammer BArefoot Cruises) as little a $50 per day!

Not sure if you want to try a repositioning cruise... Here is the checklist to see if you "qualify":
1. Do you have time for a longer vacation, perhaps 15 to 30 days
2. Do you love days at sea
3. Do you want to keep you cost per cruise day to a minimum?
4. Does the idea of combining a land trip with a cruise appeal to you?

There is still time..
